In this message, Pastor Dale teaches about maintaining our faith when the realities of life tempt us to doubt what God has already shown us.
Through the story of Elijah and the widow of Zarephath in 1 Kings 17, we see a woman step out in faith when she had almost nothing left. God miraculously provided flour and oil for her household, yet when tragedy later struck and her son died, the circumstances before her caused her to lose sight of what God had already done. After God restored her son, her faith was strengthened once again.
Pastor Dale also looks at Thomas, who had walked with Jesus and witnessed His miracles but still struggled to believe that Christ had risen from the dead. Jesus appeared to Thomas and told him, “Do not be unbelieving, but believing,” reminding us that blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe.
Difficult circumstances can make fear, uncertainty, and doubt feel more real than our faith. In those moments, we must remember God’s faithfulness and stand upon what we know to be true.
Romans 1:17 declares, “The just shall live by faith.” Our walk with God is a life of believing, trusting, and continuing to follow Jesus regardless of what the world places before us. Our hope, salvation, and eternal life are found in Christ, and we are called to stand firmly upon that faith.
